Waterproofing treatment to Terrace concrete / roof ( Directly exposed to UV) with Apcobuild TopGuard of apcotex industries ltd. Ready to use, heavy duty reinforced acrylic waterproof coating system, composed of specially developed highly elastic & resilient acrylic polymers, properly selected & graded fillers, light fast & weather durable pigments with micro fibers, additives ,best quality fungicide in aques medium. It is used as a liquid applied waterproofing membrane. Three layer system ensuring proper buildup of the thickness, making it a reliable waterproofing system. Excellent crack bridging properties, High tensile strength, tear resistance & bond strength with cementitious substrates, breathable.

Clean the surface thoroughly with mechanically means and make the surface free from dirt and loose material
In existing old terraces with brickbat coba or screeds , the substrate must be checked for its soundness.
Damaged or hollow portions, sharp edges must be cut and removed till the mother slab.
The slab should be recoated with slurry of Apcobuild Seal n safe and cement (1 :1) proportion. After drying the brickbat coba in that proportion should be reinstated by mixing Apcobuild Seal N Safe in base slurry.
In other areas where the coba is sound , the surface cracks must be filled with Apcobuild Crackfiller paste or polymer modified mortar.
Dilute Apcobuild Topguard with water in 1:1 mixing ratio as a primer coat, then pour Apcobuild Topguard into these cracks and wait for it to dry.
Bitumen based waterproofing treatments if existing, must be completely removed by machnical scarification or by any other effective mechanical means.

Pre wetting the area

Once the area is cleaned, saturate the entire surface with water and allow water to stand on the surface for 12 hours.

Application of Apcobuild Topguard - Priming:

Dilute 2 parts of Apcobuild Topguard with 1 part water. Allow it to dry for 6 to 8 hours.

Method of application:

All pipe inlets and outlets are sealed with TAPE is used to fix MYK Carow FB Tape to the wall/floor joints, including overlaps, internal/ external corner pieces and sealing of pipe inlets and outlets.
Apply Apcobuild Topguard by brush, roller. Apply first coat of Apcobuild Topguard without any dilution & allow it to dry. Before taking up the second & third coat the rate of application being the same large roofs, an open woven glass fibres mesh of 2.5 x 2.5 mm must be sandwiched between the first & second coat. While the first coat still wet, place the fibre mesh on it. After the coat dries start applying second coat of Apcobuild Topguard.
This improves the performance of the coating dramatically, to take care all movements in cracks and cold joint in the substrate caused by variation of high and low temperature. Drying time between two coats will be 6 to 8 hours. Allow the system to air cure for 7 days minimum. A total thickness of 1 to 1.2 mm must be achieved when Apcobuild Topguard is dry 7 days after application.
